Let's Celebrate the Super Dads in Our Lives

There was always a pot of coffee on at our house growing up. Whether it was a quiet Saturday morning or the chaos of everyone scrambling to get out the door, that familiar aroma filled the air. Comforting, grounding, and always present. It’s a smell that will always remind me of my father-in-law, Don. He spent nearly 40 years in the coffee business with Royal Cup Coffee, and you could say his love for a good cup, and for people, was brewed deep into who he is. His presence was steady, hard working, and his stories always great with a mug in hand.

Some of my favorite memories have happened over coffee. Family gatherings around the table, early mornings before the rest of the world stirred, and long conversations about life and legacy. My Dad, Ken, is part of those memories too. He came into my life not because he had to, but because he chose to—and that choice has meant everything. He’s a constant source of encouragement, wisdom, and quiet strength, and he’s shown me what fatherhood looks like in both word and action. I’m so grateful for the example both of these incredible men have set.
